There will be 12 days of study, led by traditional Byzantine iconographer Hanna Ward, and will offer an in-depth exploration of egg tempera painting and gilding techniques, using natural, semi precious pigments and gold leaf.

This year’s Greek course is being held in the historic seaside village of Skala Eressos, the birthplace of the poet Sappho, renowned for her lyrical poetry that has had a profound influence on Western literature.
Surrounded by lush olive groves and rolling hills, there will be plenty of opportunities for walking and exploring nature, while its quaint streets, traditional houses and local tavernas provide a delightful setting to relax and enjoy an authentic Greek experience when you are not painting.
The price of the course is €1600, which includes tuition, boards, pigments and lunches, as well as your own en-suite room. Transport from Mytilini airport on the 11th of May and return to the airport on the 25th is also included.
