The course was led by Sr. Esther of Turvey Abbey. It explored the meaning of icons and their deep spiritual significance. Drawing exercises were included and then painting an icon of choice.
The course was for beginners – as well as those experienced in painting icons. It was a great success and all participants found that they were valued and the level of teaching execellent.
A gallery of the event follows showing the creation of the icons by those who took part. The event concluded on the Friday when Br. John OSB from the Monastery of Christ Our Saviour, Turvey, blessed the iocns.
