As a member of the BAI you will receive a quarterly Review. Our Review is published for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and is usually at least 40 pages in length. It has interesting articles and useful information for both established iconographers and for those just starting out. UK members will have a printed copy of the Review posted to them, while overseas members can opt to either have the printed Review posted or an e-mailed version.
If you would like to join the BAI, please send an e-mail to the Membership Secretary at membership@bai.org.uk. To contact the Review editor, please e-mail: editor@bai.org.uk

Message from the Editor
Dear Friends,
In this season of the Solemnity of Our Lord, leading up to Advent, I hope you will be interested in the articles on pages 17 and 25. A look at the Orthodox church and icons of Ukraine fascinated me. Perhaps there will be something there to encourage you.
Recently we(the BAI) have accepted a large group of people from Hong Kong as new members – a very warm welcome to you all. As students of Sr Esther, you will already know something about the aims of the BAI . I hope everyone will feel welcome as part of the ‘BAI family’, whether you have been a member for many years or for a few weeks. This Review is for you, so do feel free to send in any ideas, articles, photos. The website has up–to–date information about courses.
May I encourage you to use the Prayer of the Icon Writer and to never forget:–
• the joy of spreading icons in the world
• the joy of the work of icon writing/painting
• the joy of giving the Christ and the Saints the possibility to
shine through the icon
• the joy of being in union with Christ or the Saint whose face
you are writing/painting.
Wishing you a blessed and creative Advent.
Ann (Braithwaite)
Editor of BAI Review (Volunteer)
